SHOE MILEAGE

Your runs are yours.

This policy explains the limited information used by the Shoe Mileage Garmin companion service and the controls available to you.

Last updated 14 August 2026 · Beta policy version 2026-08-06

Your choice

Shoe Mileage does not create an account until you actively start the beta and agree to this policy and the Beta Terms. Pairing your watch authorises the limited run summaries below to be sent to the Shoe Mileage developer. They are not submitted to Garmin, and Garmin is not responsible for how the developer handles them.

Information stored

Browser, recovery, and watch secrets are designed to be stored as one-way hashes on the server. Treat any recovery key shown to you like a password.

Information not received

Shoe Mileage does not receive GPS routes, location trails, heart rate, pace splits, Garmin passwords, email addresses, contacts, advertising identifiers, or payment-card details. It does not connect to Strava.

Why it is used

The information is used only to pair your watch, show your run history, calculate shoe mileage, correct a shoe selection, and send active shoes back to your watch. Shoe Mileage does not sell, rent, or transfer Garmin user data and does not use advertising trackers.

Storage, processors, and transfers

The beta uses managed OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare infrastructure for application hosting and database storage. Service providers may process information in countries outside the United Kingdom. The developer relies on the providers' contractual and security safeguards when those transfers occur.

Retention and security

Shoes and runs are kept while you use the service so the mileage history remains available. Abuse-prevention records are removed when no longer needed for their short rate-limit window. Account data is permanently removed when you use the deletion control. Reasonable technical controls are used, but no online service can promise absolute security.

Your rights and deletion

You can correct a run's shoe inside the tracker, withdraw consent and erase the account at any time. Open Garmin, then choose Delete my account and data. This deletes runs, shoes, account identifiers, sessions, pairing codes, recovery access, and watch access. You can also read the standalone deletion instructions.

UK and European users may also ask to access, correct, restrict, or erase personal information and may complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office. For privacy requests, email support@shoemileage.co.uk.

Children and support

The public beta is not directed to children under 16. Shoe Mileage is an independent UK service and the controller of the information described in this policy. It is not made, sponsored, certified, or endorsed by Garmin. For support, email support@shoemileage.co.uk.
